Lenovo Ideapad 530s

Lenovo has proven time and time again that you don't need to spend upwards of $1,000 on a premium grade laptop that doesn't skimp on performance. For well under that price you can get your hands on this Lenovo Ideapad 530S 15.6 inch screen, 1080p display and 8GB of RAM. The first thing you will notice, undoubtedly is the compact, aluminum design which certainly makes this computer stand out from its competitors.

I'm pretty excited to add this new product to our Holiday Gift Guide. I've spent the last couple days getting myself use to it and getting caught up on blog work. However, there isn't much to get use to. I've browsed through it with so much ease. I admit I'm not very tech savy. So when working on my blog I need a computer I can easily use. I have a lot of researching, writing and picture editing to do. Lenovo is well known for their their state of the art Yoga series and the ThinkPad series of notebooks. In the middle lies the equally as promising notebook lineup, the Ideapad series. While the Yoga may be the top of the line consumer suite of notebooks and tablets, the ThinkPad seems more business and the perfect Ideapad sits somewhere in the middle while attracting both business and consumer users.

Lenovo machines are most well knows for their solid build quality and durability, the Ideapad 530s is definitely no exception. The thin machine weighs only 1.49 kg making it effortlessly portable. The Ideapad comes with Windows 10 which I am loving. The performance is above average and the Ideapad definitely has a lot going for it. It has apps already installed like Netflix and Skype, and games including Candy Crush and Minecraft. My youngest son is obsessed with Minecraft and has been asking me to get the computer version for months. This gave him a chance to try it out before we pay for the full version. Paint 3D will come in handy for my work, as well as the school work for the kids. One of the cons I had seen written about this particular model was the "flat keys". I'm actually loving the keys. Personally, the flatter keyboard has been much easier for me. I find myself not making as many spelling errors.

The touchpad is very smooth and precise. Under the touchpad, more toward the bottom are two click buttons to use for the left and right mouse clicks. Thanks to the larger size, using the multi-finger gestures was pretty easy and effortless. Multiple ports surround the sides for your SSD card ( lightening fast SSD storage), HDMI, headphones and charger. The fast charging aspect is another of my favorite features. The Ideapad 530S boasts 8 hours of charging life and the Rapid Charge feature allows the laptop to regain two hours worth of battery life in just 15 minutes.
Overall, the Lenovo Ideapad 530s offers you more bang for the buck. I'd happily recommend it for students, businesses or just your every day computer usage.
